We have an immediate opening for a Warehouse Shipper at our Bedford, Nova Scotia location.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of material handling equipment to accurately ship, process and receive products while meeting internal standards and external customer needs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Use a forklift and pallet jack to load and unload product shipments as well as delivery supplies.
Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies, Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures
Prepare, stage and load/unload trucks and containers safely and accurately
Match bills of lading to paper work, container numbers, and seal trucks on outgoing product.
Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
Pick and stage orders to be shipped
Maintain department sanitation duties per sanitation schedule
Conduct inventories as needed
Keep work area clean and organized
Inspect forklifts and other material handling equipment
Comply with all facility safety rules and procedures, correct or report any observed safety hazards and stop any unsafe acts.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year of experience operating a forklift is preferred
Basic computer operation skills. Ability to input and retrieve computerized information
Demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills, including establish priorities, multi-tasking, and meeting deadlines
Demonstrate attention to detail, quality and cleanliness at work
Ability and preference for working in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated history of professionalism
Ability to work a variety of shifts
